Emmanuel College has much to offer to those who have an interest in music, and we hope as many of you as possible will want to be part of the society. We will be at the Emmanuel Freshers' Fair which will be held in the Old Library during Freshers' Week. At the fair, you will have the chance to sign up to all of our groups. However, please feel free to join any of our mailing lists in advance of coming to College.
ECMS welcomes ANYONE of ANY standard. In the past many people have come to Emmanuel without instruments because they assume that everyone else will be much better than they are. While it is certainly true that Emma has many very talented musicians, not everyone here has grade 8!
Please, if you do play an instrument, to whatever standard, consider bringing it to College with you. We try to encourage as many members of Emmanuel College to participate as much as possible in any of our ensembles - all of which are non-audition.

There will be an opportunity for all 2009 freshers to perform in a special concert in Michaelmas term (date to be confirmed; last year this concert took place on Sunday 2nd November 2008).
This concert is especially for you - any performances are welcomed - any style, any instrument. Many people choose to play solo repertoire, but you are equally encouraged to play in a small group with your new friends if you prefer. The concert generally has a very relaxed atmosphere and is always enjoyed by all involved.
We would love as many people as possible to be part of this, so if you are interested, why not prepare something to play during the holidays?
